Painting Flower Pots

While many customers get fantastic results using Bristol Paint on flower pots, it isn’t something we officially recommend. Moisture held in porous pots, such as terracotta, can often seep through and sit behind the paint, leading to flaking or discolouration over time.

To get the best possible finish, always start with our Exterior Base-coat 1000. If the colour you love comes in an exterior version, like Ultramarine 1035, be sure to use that instead of the interior equivalent. Note that most of our paint colours are formulated for interior use.
